What is Affinity Photo?
It's a powerful and intuitive application for processing digital images that is more powerful than any of us can fully master. It has all the features of Photoshop but is way cheaper and is available for iPad, Windows and Mac IOS.
Despite this power it is a valuable and rewarding platform for all photographers to use.
Affinity Photo is a graphic design tool that helps creative professionals edit images on a centralized platform. Artists can perform image rendering, add copyright information in pictures, edit metadata and merge high dynamic range (HDR) images. Affinity Photo allows professionals to correct color casts, apply filters in single layers/multiple stacks and edit photoshop document (PSD) files. Designers can utilize the magical inpainting brush or patch removal tools to remove blemishes or unwanted objects from pictures. It also lets users view the preview of edited images and combine multiple pictures using the focus stacking functionality. Affinity Photo enables photographers to adjust exposure/white balance and erase specific parts of images according to requirements. Pricing is available on a one-time license basis and support is extended via documentation, phone, email and other online measures.

Affinity Photo - Desktop vs iPad
Affinity Photo 2 works really well on both desktop (PC and Mac) and iPad. The features on both devices is pretty much the same except the WAY you use them is different. The desktop version is keyboard based and offers extensive use of shortcuts. The iPad version uses finger motions such as swipe and tap. It can be confusing if you are using both devices at the same time but you can get used to both.
The image to the right is Desktop and the left iPad
The jury is out on which is best to use.
The iPad is more intuitive but the desktop offers more efficient processes.
The iPad version sells for a one off $30.99 and the Desktop version $109.00
We can explore both versions. What we do first will depend on which is the most popular. If there are sufficient users of both we can set up two workshops.

The processed photos will be in Affinity Photo format (afphoto) and the exports usually in jpg although there are many other formats to select.
To get started on the desktop version start the software, cancel the New option and choose Open. Locate your original and your ready to go.
With the iPad version open the app tap the Open button then Import Document or Import from Photos, if you are storing your photos in the Photos app.Your photo will appear on the Home Screen with any other photos you've already imported. To work on a photo tap on it and your ready to go.
